دمشق تصف محطة بترول "بغارة جوية" وسقوط عشرات القتلى ..وعدد القتلى في سوريا يزيد عن 60000

The attack took place near the town of Maliha in the partly rebel-held Eastern Ghuta region of Damascus, the Syrian Observatory for Human Rights said. The watchdog said dozens were killed or wounded but could not immediately give a comprehensive breakdown.

The new calculation, the result of a five-month UN project to cross-reference names of the dead, suggests that previous analysis of the carnage caused by almost two years of protests, repression, and fighting issued by opposition groups were too conservative. Even the new figure is likely to be an underestimate, the United Nations High Commissioner for Human Rights suggested, as it ignores incidents with incomplete accounts of victims and cannot include those who have been "disposed of" secretly, without their families being informed.

الأمم المتحدة : 60000 قتلوا في الحرب السورية

At least 60,000 people have died in Syria's conflict, the UN human rights commissioner has said, citing an "exhaustive" study which has sharply increased the number of those believed killed.Before the latest UN-commissioned survey it had been estimated that up to 45,000 people had perished during the conflict; the up-to-date calculation increases the death toll by a third.

BEIRUT — The United Nations’ human rights chief said Wednesday that more than 60,000 people have been killed in the bloody conflict in Syria, a figure that far exceeds even estimates given by opposition groups after nearly two years of fighting.“The number of casualties is much higher than we expected and is truly shocking,” U.N. Human Rights Commissioner Navi Pillay said, according to Reuters news service.

At least 30 people were killed Wednesday when Syrian warplanes bombed a petrol station in a rebellious suburb on the eastern edge of Damascus, two opposition campaigners on the scene said."I counted at least 30 bodies. They were either burnt or dismembered," said Abu Saeed, an activist who arrived at the area in the Muleiha suburb of Damascus an hour after the raido ccurred at 1:00 P.M. local time.

A Syrian warplane has destroyed a petrol station near Damascus, killing and wounding dozens of people and igniting a huge fire in what could be one of the bloodiest attacks in weeks during the 22-month civil war.Activists on Wednesday said a single Russian-built MiG fighter fired a missile that hit the station, setting off an inferno in the eastern suburb of Mleiha. Black smoke was seen billowing from the site.

20 Syrian soldiers, including a general, defect to Turkey

20 جندي سوري منهم العام والمنشق إلى تركيا 

ANKARA: A group of some 20 Syrian soldiers including a general defected from the army on Tuesday and fled to Turkey, joining hundreds of other ex-troops from Syria's military, a Turkish diplomat told AFP."The soldiers who fled to Turkey include a general, three colonels and several other officers," the source said. Some 40 people, including defectors and family members, crossed the border into the southern Turkish province of Hatay. They were taken to the Apaydin refugee camp, which holds all of Syria's defected soldiers, Turkey's state-run Anatolia news agency reported.

The family of freelance American reporter James Foley have revealed that he was kidnapped at gunpoint in Syria on 22 November, 44 days ago.Foley, an experienced war reporter aged 39, was seized by four armed men in the town of Taftanaz, in the northern province of Idlib, according to witnesses. His driver and translator were later released.
