Videos reveal a new horror for Syrian civilians: cluster bombs.

The videos leave little room for doubt: they show cluster bombs lying on dusty ground next to buildings, or stuck nose first in the earth. All around are dozens of the unexploded bomblets that they released in mid-air and scattered over areas larger than football pitches. Adults, even young children, are picking up the bomblets, seemingly unaware that they could explode at any moment.

WASHINGTON — Most of the arms shipped at the behest of Saudi Arabia and Qatar to supply Syrian rebel groups fighting the government of Bashar al-Assad are going to hard-line Islamic jihadists, and not the more secular opposition groups that the West wants to bolster, according to American officials and Middle Eastern diplomats.

Turks search aid flight, let plane fly on to Syria
الأتراك يفتشون طائرة مساعدات إنسانية .. ويسمحون للطائرة بأكمال الرحلة إلى سوريا

BEIRUT -- A plane headed from Armenia to Syria that was grounded and searched Monday in Turkey was carrying only humanitarian aid, the Turkish foreign minister said.

After the plane's cargo was examined it was allowed to continue to the besieged city of Aleppo , the official Anadolu news agency reported.
